2019 Junior Golf Program
Thank you for your interest in the CCE Junior Golf Program for kids 5-15 years of age. The future of the game is in their hands and here at CCE we encourage, coach and support junior golf participation. We have eliminated greens fees for kids 12 and under, lowered rates for 13-18 years old, and brought in beginner rental sets for the 2019 season. There is no better time than right now to get out with your kids and enjoy the game of a lifetime. The lesson and instruction will be on Saturdays at 9:30am and golf on the course will be Monday at 7:45am. The instructors are Erich Lange and current CCE Club Champion Jay Nelson. Erich is the GM/Superintendent at CCE, is in the process of becoming a PGA associate, and assisted in 2015 with the program here at CCE. He brings a good career as an amateur golfer and a vast knowledge of all phases of the game, as well as his enthusiasm and love for golf. Jay Nelson is a four-time Illinois state qualifier with a runner up finish in 1999 and 3rd in 2000. He went on to Sauk Valley Community College where he won seven tournaments and was All-Conference both years and rated number two in the NJCAA national rankings with a scoring average of 70.2. Jay also worked as an Assistant-Pro at multiple courses in the Iowa section in the early 2000’s. Both Erich and Jay hope you receive their enthusiasm for golf and life and apply those qualities to your children’s lives. The success of our program depends upon our volunteers and without your help we would not be able to have a junior golf program. An adult must be present in every group on the golf course for supervision. We are asking that you sign up to help a minimum of 2 days during the program, a sign-up sheet is provided below for you. We have a fun summer planned with five lessons, four play dates, an Adult-Junior Tourney, Junior Championship, and a Pizza Party. Even if you’re on vacation a week or two, there will still be plenty of opportunities to get on the course and swing!!! All for only $100.00. We will concentrate on the rules, fundamentals, etiquette, integrity, sportsmanship, and respect for others and property. Golf provides not only a recreational outlet but can teach children a life style to carry into their adult years.
